Summer and Fall Viruses can be brutal! It always hits us at the wrong time. When you are planning a vacation, starting a new job, traveling to somewhere new, etc. Then you are surrounded by people who are sick. What do you do? Many people think it is inevitable that you will catch that nasty cold that everyone has. Then once you have a cold it tends to drag on and on and on. This does not need to happen!
There are many ways to avoid catching that cold as well as reducing the time you are sick. The answer is not keeping a constant regimen of vitamins and a high dose of Vitamin C. This can actually make the illness hold tighter to your body and you will have that awful run down feeling for months! Vitamin C is very useful but only used when appropriate. Before you are sick you need to see your Doctor of Oriental Medicine (me) I have herbs that will support your body function so that you will be less susceptible to a virus. If you do catch a cold, don't stay home in the dark, COME SEE ME! If we catch the cold when the symptoms first appear we can get rid of the virus almost immediately. If we are unable to catch the illness in the 1st phase I will create a formula just for you to help you through the Phases of healing. We can shorten the duration of your illness by days and possibly weeks. We can also keep the illness from progressing to more serious issues like pneumonia or bronchitis. Acupuncture & Herbs followed by rest and you will be on your feet in no time! |
